A man's body has been found in a burning tent near Manchester city centre.
Fire crews made the discovery when they were called to a blaze under a railway bridge next to New Bailey Street car park in Salford at around 1am on Wednesday morning.
A GMP spokesman confirmed that officers were called to the scene, off Irwell Street near Salford Central train station and Trinity Way, by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service at 1.20am.
Crews had discovered a man's body in a burning tent, the spokesman added. An investigation has been launched but it's too early to say if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
