Former Nigerian captain, Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha, has delivered a veiled desire that he could one be running for the office of the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF].
The ex-football star has identified himself as a presidential type in an executive workings of running football.
The 41-year-old said he is rather interested in holding executive positions than going into coaching at the moment.
No [I am not going into the coaching], not for the moment. I’m more interested in the executive positions. I prefer to be the one who appoints them and tells them what to do (laughs)!" he told Fifa.com this week.
Asked if he is best-suited for the presidential position, Okocha responded: "Why not? Yes. In fact, I’ve just been named the chairman of the Delta State Football Association, which I’m delighted about. Who knows what the future has in store, though?"
Okocha is currently chairman of the Delta State FA, having been elected into the position in February this year.
